Jon Trickett - Member of Parliament for the Hemsworth Constituency

This week the Coalition Government's Finance Bill is being debated in the House of Commons and included plans to increase the rate of VAT to 20%

Jon Trickett MP is spearheading a move amongst other Labour MPs to expose the hypocrisy of Liberal Democrat MPs in supporting the tax rise.

The Finance Bill is currently in its report stage and Jon Trickett has tabled a number of amendments in an attempt to force a vote on VAT.

Jon said:

"Increasing the rate of VAT will hit the poorest hardest. This week Parliament has the opportunity to stop this unfair tax increase in its tracks."
