Hemsworth Library
Jon was very impressed with all the new facilities offered at Hemsworth Library when he was recently shown round the premises. The Library, which is part of the new town centre re-development, has all the lastest technology. Jon is photographed being shown the electronic system for the return of books. The Library also has internet access and a contact telephone point for Wakefield Council services. Jon was also impressed with the display of art work from Kinsley Craft Workshops whose work is show to encourage new people to join the art club which meets at 6.30 pm on Tuesday evenings at Kinsley Craft on Wakefield Road. Following the visit Jon said "I was pleased to be able to visit the Library in its new premises and meet the staff again. The last time I visited it was in a crumbling building and was struggling not only in terms of space but facilities. I was heartened to hear that as a result of the move to the new premises user numbers have increased"
