Help for local ex-miners from Jon Trickett MP

Following the announcement by the Government that people who suffer from Miners’ Knee could now qualify for industrial injuries disablement benefit, Jon Trickett has put together a fact sheet to explain in clear terms the process for applying.

Yorkshire MPs have been campaigning for some time to introduce the illness, also known as osteoarthritis, as a prescribed disease so that sufferers can claim Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.  Now, Jon Trickett wants to make sure that everyone who’s entitled to receive it can claim as easily and quickly as possible. Jon Trickett said:

I have compiled this fact sheet to make sure that everyone’s aware you don’t have to go through a solicitor to claim; it’s entirely free and no one should be paying for a service to complete the form.  I am delighted that people who suffer from this painful condition can now qualify for some kind of compensation and I know many local people will be very positively affected by these changes.

If you believe you are eligible for this injury benefit, due to working as a miner, you can either get in touch with Jon’s office on 01977 722 290 or download the information from his website – www.jontrickett.org.uk
