Kinsley and Fitzwilliam Resource Centre Opening

Jon Trickett was pleased to be asked to open the refurbished creche and cafe at the Kinsley and Fitzwilliam Resource Centre.  The creche now has extended hours and the cafe is much more spacious allowing for the 450 students who attend the Centre and the local community to eat in comfort and style.  Jon met with  staff  in the creche, two of whom had started training at the Resource Centre when it opened in 2000 and are now qualified creche workers.  The extended cafe is also participating in a healthy eating scheme and has plans to provide cooking lessons.   In his speech Jon Trickett paid tribute to the vision of those who had been there from the centre’s inception, Pete Taberner and the late Malcolm Moran.  He also thanked Wayne Jenkins for continuing to support the Centre and paid tribute to all the members of the board and the staff who worked so hard to make the centre such a successful and dynamic resource for the area.
