Jon Trickett A strong Yorkshire voice for Hemsworth constituency
On Monday I went to the 20th anniversary of Warde Aldham becoming a centre of care for the elderly.
I must say that it is a very impressive and happy place. The staff turnover is low which means that they must be generally content with their work. I gave a bunch of flowers to Sue who had worked there for the full 20 years.
A number of volunteers and relatives were there and one of the points that was made by a number of people was that it is so much better that the care home is run by a charity – the Methodist Homes Association – rather than by a private company motivated by the need for profits.
