Land for the Many – a radical new report to the Labour Party

There’s a problem with the land…….

Half of England is owned by less than 1% of its population. And in the UK the value of land has risen dramatically, from around £1 trillion in 1995 to over £5 trillion today.

This means….

HOUSING

FARMING

EVEN ACCESS

…are out of reach for growing numbers of ordinary people.

This needs to change.

Today is the launch of ‘Land for the Many’, an independent report commissioned by the Labour Party and edited by George Monbiot, with bold proposals on how we can make land and developments more accessible, affordable and accountable to communities across the country.
