The Government has appointed a new Minister for the HS2 project, Paul Maynard. He has taken over from Andrew Jones, who was previously in the role.

I have asked for a meeting with him as soon as possible. He must be informed just how much the HS2 route will damage our area, and do all I can to get him to change the route.

I will keep you advised of any progress. I am absolutely clear that everything must be done to change the proposed route, and will be making it my mission to do so over the coming months.
